Gabor '25 is out digitally on all platforms, in HQ version on Bandcamp and accompanied with an exclusive video on Youtube.
"Porto has long composed music that feels like it is remembering something you forgot, and ‘Gabor ’25’ is no exception. The song has been a ghost in his live shows for years, appearing in acoustic corners and full-band storms, but here it stands complete. A noir chanson that breathes in the smoke of rock, jazz dissonance, European cinema, and the heavy air of class and inheritance. This is an idea that identity can ever be fixed. "(It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine )
The accompanying video, over nine minutes in length (!), merges family archive footage with animated works from Italian painter Giovanni Manganaro. These visuals shift between figuration and abstraction, weaving personal history into artistic narrative.(Side-Line Magazine)
The video was shot by Ashish Pant in New York, while the AI-powered animations by Mattia Veltri are stemming from my original family pictures and a series of paintings from a long time favorite of mine, Giovanni Manganaro, who agreed to the use of his works.
The song is a recording of the live version we did with IDRA in the last years. IDRA are Sergio Cipolla (guitar), Carmine Cipolla (guitar) Massimo Palermo (studio drums) and Paolo Gaudio (live drums).
