Prizes, performances and other news

- On May 20th at the Spring Piano Festival in NYC pianist Jasna Popovic started touring with her "Around the Piano World" project, including my piece Studio Naufrago. Next dates will be in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Boston and then New York again for Concerts in the Park.

- "The Blurry World of Marcello Casagrande" won the Honorable Mention for Sound Design at Los Angeles Film Awards. (Despite the sonorous name and the very official look, it's one of those zillions of very small online festivals, but hey, it doesn't hurt!). The film was also screened at Cannes last week for That Film Festival.

- "jenni" by Ray Hungria, for which I wrote the original score, did sound recordist and sound post, won Best Short Film at Mexican International Film Festival, and Best Editing at Madrid International Film Festival, after being pre-screened at NYU on May 20th.

- "Lies And Oblivion - Session Vocal Unit" won Best Short Film at Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.

- "Frammenti d'Inverno" audio-video installation by Gianluca Colitta that I sound-designed, wins first prize at Blue Danube Film Festival for Best Experimental Film;

- "If only I were that warrior", documentary by Valerio Ciriaci, sound design by myself, winner of Italian Globo D'Oro and Festival Dei Popoli, next screening: Monday the 21st at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan, Italy)

- "Sono Angelica, Voglio Vendetta" by AZ (Andrea Zingoni), a feature that I mixed, just won Best Feature Film at Solaris Film Festival, Nice (FR)

- Ashish Pant's "Uljhan", an Indian-French-US production, after catching international attention at script level (among the few selected at the GOA South-Asian market and running in Amsterdam Film Festival in the script section) will have its first slate next summer, we will soon be in India catching sounds for its complex soundtrack.

- Happy to have transcribed, recorded and orchestrated some forgotten Italian music from the 1920's, written by composer Vittorio Ovazza with words by his brother Ettore Ovazza, who died in a concentration camp - a commission of Centro Primo Levi NY with the Elkann family. Featuring the violin of Emanuele Valle and tenor Francesco Pavesi singing the song "Attesa" on a day off his US tour.

- Stay tuned for the next screening of "Judas" by Pier Luigi Sposato, an epic feature where me and the director really tried to cross every boundary with sound narration. (Me and the guy are already working on his next film, plus he will sign a music clip from the forthcoming album).
